“… e eu te mostrarei a minha fé pelas minhas obras.” Tiago, 2:18.
Em todos os lugares, vemos o obreiro sem fé, espalhando inquietação e desânimo.
Devota-se a determinado empreendimento de caridade e abandona-o, de início, murmurando:
–“Para quê? O mundo não presta.”
Compromete-se em deveres comuns e, sem qualquer mostra de persistência, se faz demissionário de obrigações edificantes, alegando:
–“Não nasci para o servilismo desonroso.”
Aproxima-se da fé religiosa, para desfrutar-lhe os benefícios, entretanto, logo após, relega-a ao esquecimento, asseverando:
–“Tudo isto é mentira e complicação.”
Se convidado a posição de evidência, repete o velho estribilho:
– “Não mereço! Sou indigno!…”
Se trazido a testemunhos de humildade, afirma sob manifesta revolta:
– “Quem me ofende assim?”
E transita de situação em situação, entre a lamúria e a indisciplina, com largo tempo para sentir-se perseguido e desconsiderado.
Em toda parte, é o trabalhador que não termina o serviço pelo qual se responsabilizou ou o aluno que estuda continuadamente, sem jamais aprender a lição.
Não te concentres na fé sem obras, que constitui embriaguez perigosa da alma, todavia, não te consagres à ação, sem fé no Poder Divino e em teu próprio esforço.
O servidor que confia na Lei da Vida reconhece que todos os patrimônios e glórias do Universo pertencem a Deus. Em vista disso, passa no mundo, sob a luz do entusiasmo e da ação no bem incessante, completando as pequenas e grandes tarefas que lhe competem, sem enamorar-se de si mesmo na vaidade e sem escravizar-se às criações de que terá sido venturoso instrumento.
Revelemos a nossa fé, através das nossas obras na felicidade comum e o Senhor conferirá à nossa vida o indefinível acréscimo de amor e sabedoria, de beleza e poder.

“…and I will show you my faith by my works.” James, 2:18.
Everywhere we see the faithless worker, spreading disquiet and discouragement.
He devotes himself to a certain charitable enterprise and leaves it at first, muttering:
-“For what? The world sucks.”
He undertakes common duties and, without any show of persistence, resigns from edifying obligations, claiming:
—“I was not born to dishonorable servility.”
He approaches religious faith, to enjoy its benefits, however, soon after, he relegates it to oblivion, assuring:
– “All this is a lie and complication.”
If invited to the evidentiary position, he repeats the old refrain:”I do not deserve! I am unworthy!…”
If brought to testimonies of humility, he affirms in manifest revolt:
– “Who offends me like that?”
And he moves from situation to situation, between whining and indiscipline, with plenty of time to feel persecuted and disregarded.
Everywhere, it is the worker who does not finish the job for which he was responsible or the student who studies continuously, without ever learning his lesson.
Do not concentrate on faith without works, which constitutes a dangerous intoxication of the soul, however, do not devote yourself to action, without faith in the Divine Power and in your own effort.
The servant who trusts in the Law of Life recognizes that all the patrimonies and glories of the Universe belong to God. In view of this, he passes through the world, under the light of enthusiasm and action in the incessant good, completing the small and large tasks that fall to him, without falling in love with himself in vanity and without enslaving himself to the creations that he will have. been a fortunate instrument.
Let us reveal our faith, through our works in common happiness, and the Lord will bestow upon our lives the indefinable addition of love and wisdom, of beauty and power.
