Ouvirás decerto / You will surely hear

Se te encontras realmente empenhado na execução do bem, ouvirás, decerto, as provocações do mal em todos os instantes de testemunho.

—“Se, em verdade, vives à procura do Cristo, por que choras sob o fardo das provações?”
—“De que te serve a fé para o caminho de tanta dor?”
—“Se és médium com tarefa na caridade, onde estão os Espíritos protetores que te não aliviam as amarguras?”
—“Se guardas confiança em Jesus, mostra-te livre dos obstáculos…”
—“Se louvas o Espiritismo como Doutrina de luz, por que te demoras na sombra das aflições?”

Registrarás interrogações como essas a cada passo.
É necessário te releves à altura do conhecimento superior com que a Bondade Divina te favorece, demonstrando que os princípios sublimes de tua fé não se movimentam na direção do conforto imediatista da carne, mas sim no rumo do burilamento espiritual, pelos tempos afora.
Ensinarás com o teu exemplo que o Evangelho não é oficina de vantagens na experiência material, mas sim templo de trabalho redentor para que venhamos a consertar nós mesmos, diante da Vida Eterna.
Farás da mediunidade instrumento para a lavoura do bem, ainda mesmo te custe imensuráveis sacrifícios, ajudando aos outros sem cogitar de auxílio a ti mesmo, como quem sabe que a Lei do Amor é o sustentáculo do Universo, providenciando socorro natural a quem se consagra ao socorro dos semelhantes.
Converterás o Espiritismo, na tua senda, em força educativa da alma, sem exigir que o mundo se te afeiçoe às conveniências.
Buscarás a luz onde a luz se encontre.
Desculparás toda ofensa.
Elegerás na fraternidade a tua bandeira.
Conjugarás o verbo servir onde estiveres.
Começarás o trabalho de redenção em ti mesmo.
Orarás por quem te fira ou calunie.
Amarás os próprios adversários.
Ajudarás sem exigência.
Contudo, para o exercício de semelhante apostolado, não passarás sobre a Terra sem o assédio da incompreensão e do escárnio, porque o próprio Cristo foi por eles visado, através daqueles que, em lhe rodeando o madeiro de sacrifício, lhe gritavam, zombeteiros e irônicos:
—“Salva-te a ti mesmo e desce da cruz”.

You will register questions like these at every step.
It is necessary to elevate yourself to the height of the superior knowledge with which Divine Kindness favors you, demonstrating that the sublime principles of your faith do not move in the direction of the immediate comfort of the flesh, but rather in the direction of spiritual refinement, for all time.
You will teach with your example that the Gospel is not a workshop of advantages in material experience, but rather a temple of redemptive work so that we can come to repair ourselves, in the face of Eternal Life.
You will make mediumship an instrument for the cultivation of good, even if it costs you immeasurable sacrifices, helping others without thinking of helping yourself, as someone who knows that the Law of Love is the support of the Universe, providing natural help to those who dedicate themselves to help of peers.
You will convert Spiritism, on your path, into an educational force of the soul, without demanding that the world become attached to your conveniences.
You will seek the light where the light is found.
You will forgive every offense.
You will choose your flag in the fraternity.
You will conjugate the verb to serve wherever you are.
You will begin the work of redemption in yourself.
You will pray for those who hurt or slander you.
You will love your opponents.
You will help without demand.
However, for the exercise of such an apostolate, you will not pass over the Earth without the harassment of incomprehension and mockery, because Christ himself was targeted by them, through those who, in surrounding the sacrificial tree, shouted to him, mocking and ironic :
—“Save yourself and come down from the cross”.
