A glória mais expressiva do perdão não reside tanto na superioridade daquele que o dispensa, mas sim na soma de benefícios gerais que virão depois dele. O mais alto valor do concurso fraterno não está contido no socorro às necessidades materiais de ordem imediata e, sim, no estímulo à confiança e à fraternidade.
Somente os espíritos em desequilíbrio extremo, fundamente cristalizados no mal, menosprezam as manifestações do bem.
Sei que é difícil julgar o destino de uma dádiva e, por vezes, teu pensamento se perde, inutilmente, em complicadas conjecturas.
“Terei dado para o bem? terei dado para o mal?” — interrogas a ti mesmo.
Mas, se não deste quanto possuis, se apenas concedeste migalhas do tesouro que o Senhor te confiou, não poderás ajudar ao próximo, tranquilamente, em nome do mesmo generoso Senhor que tudo te emprestou no mundo, a título precário?
Claro que te não rogo favorecer o crime e a desordem visíveis ao nosso olhar. Entretanto, se te posso pedir alguma coisa, em tempo algum te negues à cooperação fraterna.
Não abandones o enfermo, receando aborrecimentos, e nem fujas ao irmão desditoso que caiu nas malhas da justiça, temendo dissabores.
Se tua bondade não for compreendida, aprende a esperar.
Não é mais cristão aquele que serve por amor de servir, sem qualquer expectativa de remuneração?
Não te esqueças de que o Mestre foi conduzido ao madeiro da angústia, por ajudar e amar sempre…
Erra, auxiliando.
Será melhor assim, porque todos estamos sob o olhar da Vigilância Divina.
O homem que ajuda por vaidade e ostentação, quase sempre, em pouco tempo, cria para si mesmo o hábito de auxiliar, atingindo sublimes virtudes.
Aquele, porém, que muito fiscaliza os beneficiados e raciocina com excesso quanto ao “dar” e ao “não dar” converte-se, não raro, em calculista da piedade, a endurecer o coração, por séculos numerosos.
Ouve! Estamos à frente do tempo infinito…
É imprescindível semear.
Não adubes o vício e o crime. Todavia, não olvides que é necessário plantar muito amor, para que o amor nos favoreça.
