Que a fé não se te degrade
Ao romper da tempestade,
Qual maremoto a rugir;
Muita vez, o sofrimento
É o campo alto e fecundo,
Que impele as forças do mundo
À elevação no porvir.
Nas mínimas formações
Que alteram a natureza,
A dor é uma luz acesa
No apoio da evolução.
Olha a semente no solo,
Depois de enterrada viva,
Mais a luta se lhe ativa
Na própria germinação.
O mármore vigoroso
Nunca desvenda a obra-prima,
Que lhe atrai a humana estima
Sem o buril do escultor…
Fugindo à inércia do charco,
A fonte que desabrocha
Vence areia, pedra e rocha
E cria glebas em flor.
Reflete: o minério bruto,
Arrancado ao ninho morno,
Tomba aos martírios do forno
Para de novo se erguer;
É peça nas oficinas,
No ar, na terra, nos mares,
Nas máquinas que anotares
Do progresso a resplender.
Se o mal, por vezes, parece
Dragão de sombras à vista,
Na guerra que te contrista,
Pensa na dor por mais luz…
Sobre os domínios do mundo,
Nas lutas de todo plano,
Em qualquer conflito humano,
O vencedor é Jesus.

Dear soul, fear not.
May faith not degrade you
When the storm breaks,
What a roaring tidal wave;
Many times the suffering
It is the high and fertile field,
That drives the forces of the world
To the rise in the future.
In minimal formations
that change nature,
Pain is a light on
In support of evolution.
Look at the seed in the ground,
After being buried alive,
But the fight activates
In germination itself.
the vigorous marble
Never unveil the masterpiece,
What attracts you to human esteem
Without the sculptor’s chisel…
Escaping from the inertia of the pond,
The fountain that blooms
Beats sand, stone and rock
And creates flower plots.
Reflects: the raw ore,
Pulled from the warm nest,
Fall to the martyrdom of the oven
To rise again;
It is part of the workshops,
In the air, on land, in the seas,
On the machines you annotate
From progress to shine.
If evil sometimes seems
Shadow Dragon in Sight,
In the war that saddens you,
Think of the pain for more light…
Over the domains of the world,
In the struggles of every plane,
In any human conflict,
The winner is Jesus.
