Que é preciso trabalhar na conquista honesta do pão, todos sabemos.
Obrigação para cada um, no edifício social, é problema pacífico.
Não ignoramos, porém, que muitos companheiros do caminho permanecem à margem, esquecidos na carência, mergulhados na provação, chafurdados na delinquência, agoniados no desespero e penitentes na enfermidade…
Quem são, no mundo, os chamados para lhes prestarem socorro, em nome do Cristo?
Dizes que são os administradores; contudo, os administradores, via de regra, jazem inquietos, criando verbas e leis.
Dizes que são os políticos; entretanto, frequentemente, os políticos andam apreensivos na arregimentação partidária, estudando interesses e decisões.
Dizes que são os cientistas; todavia, os cientistas quase sempre estão concentrados em suas pesquisas, multiplicando indagações e dúvidas infindáveis.
Dizes que são os filósofos; mas os filósofos, na maioria das vezes, respiram encarcerados em suas doutrinas, alentando tribunas e discussões.
Dizes que são os milionários; todavia, os milionários comumente sofrem responsabilidades sem conta, fiscalizando posses e haveres.
Dizes que são os comerciantes; contudo, os comerciantes, muitas vezes, caminham absorvidos em suas transações, conjugando assuntos de compra e venda.
Tão pejados de compromissos vivem na Terra os governantes e os legisladores, os matemáticos e os intelectuais, os abastados e os negociantes, que serão todos eles categorizados sempre à conta de filantropos e heróis, benfeitores e apóstolos, toda vez que forem vistos nas faixas mais simples da caridade.
Lembra-te de Jesus, quando passou entre os homens cumprindo a Lei de Deus.
Em circunstância alguma formulou exigências e apelos aos titulados da Terra.
Em todos os lugares e em todos os serviços, irmanavam-se, Ele e o povo, na execução da solidariedade em nome do Amor Divino.
Assim, pois, se lembramos Jesus com fidelidade, quem deve alimentar os famintos e agasalhar os nus, sossegar os aflitos e consolar os que choram, instruir os ignorantes e apoiar os desfalecentes, antes de qualquer cristão desmemoriado ou inibido, somos sempre nós mesmos.

We are not unaware, however, that many companions on the path remain on the sidelines, forgotten in need, immersed in trials, wallowing in delinquency, agonized in despair and penitent in illness…
Who in the world are called to help them in the name of Christ?
You say you are the administrators; however, administrators, as a rule, lie restless, creating funds and laws.
You say it’s the politicians; however, politicians are often apprehensive in party regimentation, studying interests and decisions.
You say you are the scientists; however, scientists are almost always focused on their research, multiplying questions and endless doubts.
You say they are the philosophers; but philosophers, for the most part, breathe incarcerated in their doctrines, encouraging tribunes and discussions.
You say you are the millionaires; however, millionaires commonly suffer countless responsibilities, overseeing possessions and assets.
You say you are the merchants; however, merchants often walk around absorbed in their transactions, combining matters of purchase and sale.
Rulers and legislators, mathematicians and intellectuals, wealthy people and businessmen live on Earth so full of commitments, that they will always be categorized as philanthropists and heroes, benefactors and apostles, whenever they are seen in the most Simple charity.
Remember Jesus, when he passed among men fulfilling the Law of God.
Under no circumstances did he make demands and appeals to the holders of Earth.
In all places and in all services, he and the people united in the execution of solidarity in the name of Divine Love.
So, if we faithfully remember Jesus, who should feed the hungry and warm the naked, calm the afflicted and comfort those who cry, instruct the ignorant and support the fainting, before any forgetful or inhibited Christian, it is always ourselves.
